Arsenal Bulgaria Makarov

Arsenal Bulgaria Makarov
These are my Arsenal Bulgaria Makarovs. They are military surplus pistols that were imported into the USA in early 2004. One was sold as an unissued piece in collector’s condition (it was). It was $150. The other was sold as “shooters grade”. It had some holster wear, but was otherwise pretty nice. It was $130. Both came with 2 mags, 2 grips, and a cleaning rod. I’ve been very happy with them. The “shooter grade” Makarov eventually developed a little issue where it would double on me, but some simple gunsmithing by David’s friend Aaron got it fixed. He said the sear needed some squaring. It’s been quite good since, handling thousands of rounds. The collector’s condition gun has spent most of it’s time in a pistol case. That’s not to say I haven’t shot it, it’s just been less used. I’ve put maybe 500 rounds through it. My hope is to get it hard chromed (for body acid protection) and use it for a carry piece. I’ve read over and over that these are the AK’s of semi-auto pistols and so far they’ve lived up to that reputation.
