I went shooting again. Somehow, I manage to injure myself everytime I go shooting. It’s not particularly dangerous, I just wind up being too delicate I guess. So this time I ran 500 rounds through my Makarov. I “decided” that I didn’t like the Makawrap grip that I had installed and would switch back to the Bulgarian thumb-shelf grip. So before going at it, I swapped the grips out. Turned out to be a bad idea. The grip screw hole wound up scooping out my hand flesh. I didn’t notice it until I had been through 250 rounds, at which point I was leaking. So I switched to the Pierce grip for the rest of the session. It felt much better. It was easier on my wrists too. I just wish it didn’t feel so big.

I also did some minimal testing on that FeatherUSA RAV-22 rifle. It felt great, had absolutely no recoil, was quieter than I expected, and didn’t run very well. I had about 50% FTE with Winchester White box High Velocity ammo. I dunno if it was the ammo for sure, or if it’s just new and tight. I’ll finish off the box and maybe try another before moving to another box. That stuff is so cheap it’s a wonderful way to plink.

I’ve created several more header pictures and altered some Wordpress code to randomly load them. Some I’m quite sure I like. Others, I’m not so sure. We’ll see what stays. Also, these were all done from the same airshow. Maybe I ought to dig out some other pics to work from.

Side note, I finally tried to install Adobe Photoshop Elements 2.0 that I bought years ago. It wouldn’t go. I never even got an initial screen. So, I used Paint.NET. It rocks!

Things are coming along. I managed to adjust the template to better suit me (removed the Flickr stuff). To try and not use anybody else’s media/images, I’ve replaced the top image with something I photographed. I kind of like this picture, but it’s far from a final word. I’m gonna make some more from my photogallery and see what works. Maybe I’ll even make the image randomly rotate out of a set. I’ve also been researching into integrating my photogallery into this blog. From what I’ve seen I think I’ll build something custom out of Mig. I really want to avoid getting too complicated with all this.

Well, here’s the new blog software. First Post, but only because I didn’t migrate the old stuff. Not that there was much anyway. Let’s get this thing populated, customized, and polished…
